WHO I AM
My approach to working with you is shaped by my diverse experiences; from working with a variety of public sector and commercial organisations to leading commercial expeditions around the world.
I am also a Leadership Fellow at the University of Exeter Business School.
I served as an officer in the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment for seventeen years during which time I deployed on various operations, including commanding a company on combat operations in Southern Iraq in 2004, for which I was awarded the Military Cross.
I left the Army as a Major in 2007 and my final posting was as the principal leadership staff officer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where the British Army trains its officers.
As a keen mountaineer and whitewater kayaker, I have led and participated in over thirty overseas expeditions to various mountains, rivers and rainforests.
One of my passions is spending time with traditional communities to learn about their approaches to leadership and sustaining culture in a volatile and ever-changing world.
I am a Fellow of both the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Anthropological Institute as a result of these experiences.
I am a qualified Winter Mountain Leader, whitewater kayaking coach and climbing instructor and I will often be found relaxing in the wild spaces both on my Dartmoor doorstep and further afield.
